Generating a Barcode – Information to provide to Label Works
- Select type of code such as Code 39.
- Indicate characters to encode.
- Choose size (under 3/8” height not recommended).
- For consecutive or variable barcodes, please supply data file.
Barcode Fees
Static barcodes are at no additional charge. However, if the barcode is a different color than the rest of the imprint, an additional ink charge will apply (refer to price grids).
Variable barcodes are an additional 95.00 (V).
Barcode Guidelines
Stock:
- White stock only is recommended; clear stock may be used depending on the color of the application.
- Stocks not available: red fluorescent, all gold, all silver, white EDP and Laser.
Inks:
- Black or dark inks, such as dark brown, standard green, reflex blue, standard purple and standard burgundy are recommended.
- Inks not available: red, reddish brown, light or pastel
Size and Space:
- A “quiet zone” (clear area before and after the bars and spaces) is required for all barcodes.
- The height of the bars is a variable figure; under 3/8” height is not recommended because of the variety of scanners used.
